Into the Dragon’s Lair - Foster Films/Africa NHU for Discovery Channel
Synopsis of this film below, as described by the Discovery Channel
“Discovery Channel takes you on a perilous journey with underwater cameraman Didier Noirot and environmental photographer Roger Horrocks as they embark on an expedition Into the Dragon’s Lair.
The plucky duo have decided explore the one hundred metre deep papyrus caves of Botswana’s Okavango delta and get up close and personal with one of nature’s most fearsome predators: the Nile Crocodile – which will see them diving into the actual den where these giant crocodiles drag their prey.
Didier and Roger set out to understand and document the underwater behaviour of these dangerous reptiles, while exploring the fears and fascination that humans have with them. They confront our ultimate nightmares and transform them into scientific understanding and beauty.”
A Foster Brothers film in association with the Africa NHU.
Nature’s Great Events - BBC DVD Series
Produced by the BBC Natural History Unit and narrated by Sir David Attenbourgh this wildlife documentary series explores how seasonal changes powered by the sun trigger shifting weather patterns and ocean currents, which in turn create the conditions for some of the planets most spectacular wildlife events.
The fourth program in the series, “The Great Tide”, documents the epic drama of sardine run off the east coast of South Africa. During the 25 month filming period (2007 and 2008), I was assigned by producer Hugh Pearson to assist cameramen Justin Maguire and Didier Noirot. To see Didier in action, click here…
In the companion hardcover book to the series by the same name, Didier wrote the chapter on the Great Tide and Justin Maguire and I contributed the bulk of the still images.
