    Benjamin Blumenthal invited me to take some pictures of Theo Yach who was completing his 50th Robin Island Swim, a world record, and man did I have to fin hard to get these images. Congrats Theo, and to all those swimmers who were supporting you, great job!

    All of these images were taken while freediving off the east coast of Natal, South Africa, just south of Aliwal Shoal, with Mark and Gail Adderson of Blue Wilderness (www.bluewilderness.co.za), who are based at Rocky Bay on South Africa's east coast, just south of Durban.

    These images were captured on video during a 100km unassited MarineTrek from Inhaca Island near Maputo to Ponta Da Oura in southern Mozambique, in November 2003.

    These pictures of Hanli Prinsloo were taken while testing the focus and exposure capabilities of my Nikon D200 with the 12 to 24 Nikkor Zoom Lens. They are not all from the same shoot, and have been posr processed to different degrees using Nikon Capture NX and Photoshop.

    Kelp creates amazing opportunities to practice photographic technique, especially in terms of working with ambient light.

    This was Hanli's first trip out into the Big Blue off Cape Point and she loved the opportunity to freedive pelagic style. I on the other hand pucked myself sick for ten hours.

    Taken at Justin's Caves near the Twelve Apostles Hotel with a Nikon D200, 28 mm lens, and Sea and Sea Housing. Used ISO set to Auto, was shooting at times at around 800 ISO, very happy with the results.
