Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Roger is a commercial photographer who shoots lifestyle, environmental and sports imagery, with a specific interest in the marine world, both above and under the water. (Pic left by Wolfgang Leander)
Roger has contributed articles and imagery to Men’s Health and GQ, has worked as an assistant cameraman for the BBC’s Natural History Unit, and contributes stock photography to Getty Images.
With over ten years experience in the advertising and financial services industry, Roger’s working style is grounded in upfront communication and collaboration. Roger is available for any assignment anywhere in the world - and if there is water involved then thats even better!

While studying Philosophy and Law at the University of Natal in the early 1990’s, Roger became involved in freediving and spearfishing off the coast of Natal, and went on to become a member of the winning teams of both the South African University Spearfishing Championships and the South African National Spearfishing Championships.
From 1995 to 2000, he was involved in the development of South Africa’s fledgling digital marketing industry, first as a Multimedia Instructor in the training sector, then as a Business Director at Armadillo Interactive, an finally as the Managing Director of Ogilvy Interactive. In April 2000, Roger moved across into the financial services industry, working as an interactive and marketing specialist on the executive teams of Old Mutual Unit Trusts, FundsNet and Fairburn Capital.
In 2004, Roger was nominated as one of South Africa’s Adventurers of the Year by OutThere Magazine for completing a 100km unassisted MarineTrek with Mitch Rankin off the coast of southern Mozambique. In 2005, he led an eight member 180 Degree Adventures logistical team on an overland expedition from London to Cape Town, as part of a ground breaking Corporate Social Responsibility program for Barclays Bank Plc. During the five month expedition the team passed through twelve countries, drove over twenty five thousand kilometers, and raised in excess of £1,000,000.00 for various charities, including UNICEF.
In 2007 Roger worked as an assistant cameraman to Justin Maguire on the BBC Natural History Units Sardine Run shoot, which is one of the six 1 hour features of the upcoming BBC series “Earth’s Greatest Events”.
