I have been diving for over 30 years, and only once in all that time have I worn a wetsuit with zips.
Since then the only suits I dive in with zips are my dry suits.
So why am I such a fan of freediving suits over the more conventional SCUBA suits, which tend to be one-piece with a zip down the back?
Here are four reasons why:
#1: Freediving Suits are way more comfortable
- On a shoot you often wear your suit all-day
- Freediving suits are way more comfortable
#2: Freediving suits are much easier to get in and out of
- Freediving suits tend to be more flexible
- This makes taking them on and off a lot quicker and easier
#3: Freediving suits can be mixed and matched
- I have 3mm, 5mm and 7mm suits in the same colour
- This means I can wear a 5mm top with a 3mm bottom
#4 Freediving suits have no zips
- Zips are not optimal
- They leak and can malfunction
Drysuits and Semi-dry suits aside, zipless is the way to go!
Don't get @$%&, go zipless!
